James F. Wilhelmy, 52 of Woodbury, died January 8, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley (Ferry) Wilhelmy. He was born June 4, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Rita (Argalli) and Robert Wilhelmy.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four siblings, including Virginia W. Bloomquist of Newtown; his mother and father-in-law, Jeannette and William Ferry; two sisters-in-law; and 16 nieces and nephews.

He has resided in Woodbury for the past three years, previously living in Shelton. Mr Wilhelmy was a self-employed contractor and was a member of the Waterbury Country Club. An avid golfer, Jim was a two-time Club Champion at Aspetuck Valley Country Club in Easton. He also won the President’s Cup at Longshore Country Club in Westport, and organized annual golf trips to Myrtle Beach for his grateful friends for more than two decades.

Mr Wilhelmy lived a full life. He had a great sense of humor, made people feel special, and was always the “life of the party.” He leaves a large void in the many lives he touched.

Burial will be private.
