Virginia Jess, left, of Canine Advocates accepted a $300 check this week from Christina Kennedy, right, chairman of the Newtown Bridle Lands Association. The NBLA, an organization dedicated to the preservation of open space, raised the money through its 28th annual Frost on the Pumpkin Hunter Pace on Sunday, October 29. The check will help the Canine Advocates take a step closer to a new dog pound. “All organizations in town should donate to Canine Advocates,” said Ms Kennedy, “because it benefits the town. It is a sister organization which has animals in mind.” Also pictured are the equine Andiamo and canine Ilko.
