Roland           Wickson

Roland “Skip” Earle Wickson, 75, of Monroe died May 11 in Ashlar of Newtown.

Born in Ansonia, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War, had worked as a custodian in the Monroe school system, and was a professional sheep shearer.

Mr Wickson is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mabel; his daughter, Donna Edwards and her husband, Larry, of New Hartford; four sons and their wives, William and Valerie Wickson of Oxford, Robert and Karen Wickson of Monroe, Thomas and Marcelle Wickson of Brookfield, John and Joanne Wickson of Stratford; grandchildren, Rebecca Edwards Eller and her husband, Ian, Jason Edwards and Meghan, Alicia Wickson Sibilio and husband, Brian, Christina Wickson and Dave, and Laura, Danny, Morgan, and Arron Wickson; as well as a great-grandson, R.J. Eller; and a brother Edwin Wickson and his wife, Judy, of New Fairfield.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, May 12, from 4 to 8 pm in the Lesko-Miner Funeral Home, 155 Main Street (Route 25), Monroe. A graveside service will take place on Friday, May 13, at 11 am, in Stepney Cemetery, Monroe.
