Conversation With Two Pianos

The Homesteads at Newtown, a senior living community, will host a special performance by the pianists King Bosworth and Janet Somoroff-Lubell. The concert, “An Intimate Conversation for Two Pianos,” will be Sunday, July 11, at 2:30 pm.

Admission is a requested donation of $10, which will benefit The Connecticut Alzheimer’s Association.

The concert is being held in conjunction with an exhibition of original paintings by members of The Heritage Village Brush & Pencil Club. A reception for that show will be ongoing from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. Twenty-five percent of any art sales will also be forwarded to the Alzheimer’s association.

Their program on July 11 will offer include works of Bach, Saint-Saens, Poulenc, Godowski, Rachmaninoff and Gershwin, including Saint-Saens’ “Caprice on Airs” from Gluck’s Alcest and Rachmaninoff’s Variation 17 (Rhapsodie on a theme of Paganini), both arranged for two pianos by Mr Bosworth.

The Homesteads is at 166 Mt Pleasant Road (Route 6) in Newtown. Reservations are required for the concert; call 426-8118.
