Police Seek To Return Found Items To Owners

Police are seeking the owners of a number of found items that have been turned over to them for safekeeping.

The items are listed starting with those which were found most recently.

Among the found items are: two bicycles for small girls that were found at the intersection of Pearl Street and Washington Avenue in Sandy Hook on February 8; a black leather compact disc case containing discs with music in the styles of hip hop, Rastafarian, rap, and metal, which was found at the intersection of Philo Curtis Road and Pole Bridge Road in Sandy Hook last October 15; and a black nylon compact disc holder containing three compact discs with video games in the PlayStation 2 format, which was found at Fairfield Hills last September 25.

The police also are holding for safekeeping: a pink Miami Sun-brand adult-size tricycle which was found near the intersection of Botsford Hill Road and Toddy Hill Road last September 10, and a 14-karat white gold/platinum finger ring containing three diamonds that was found at the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street in August 2008.

People who believe that they are the owners of the found items may contact Sergeant Darlene Froehlich at the police station at 3 Main Street, 426-5841, to claim those items.
