PAPERMANIA PLUS WILL RETURN TO HARTFORD AUG. 25–26 w/3 cuts

HARTFORD, CONN. — The Papermania Plus antique paper show will return for its annual summer show featuring historical, political and memorable items and documents; nostalgia, postcards, rare books, photography, movie star posters and old collectibles, August 25–26 at the Hartford Civic Center.

The large-scale show boasts more than 160 dealers from throughout the East Coast states and Canada with the “hottest” collectibles around from A to Z: advertisements, Beatles, comics, framed prints, maps, rare books, stamps, sheet music, tins, vintage valentines, world war ephemera and zodiac signs.

Gary Gipstein of Wethersfield, Conn., show producer and avid collector himself, said: “Papermania is a fun show for the serious collector and for people who are always young at heart.” Buy Back a Memory continues to be the show theme.

Free appraisals, up to five items in all categories will be offered on Sunday, August 26, only from 11 am to 2 pm.

“Unique paper collectibles, such as family games, postcards, prints or rare books are still available at this show and prices can start as low as 50 cents to $5,000,” says Gipstein. “Popular also are any items bearing the likeness of Mickey Mouse and the Disney Characters.” There is the ever-growing interest in political campaign buttons; movie star and comic premiums, buttons and posters; Eighteenth Century documents; Nineteenth Century broadsides; advertising trade cards; and celebrity autographs.

Show hours will be Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is $7 per day.
