Local Photographer To Support NYFS With Family Portrait Day

Cynthia McIntyre Photography will host Family Portrait Day to benefit Newtown Youth & Family Services (NYFS) on Saturday and Sunday, June 20 and 21, from 10 am to 5 pm, at The Pleasance.

Professional portrait photographer Cynthia McIntyre is donating her time and talent to create heirloom quality family outdoor portraits for this event. Families can show their support for NYFS by signing up for a 15-minute portrait session on either day. Registration and prepayment of the $30 session fee is required. The entire sitting fee goes to NYFS.

“This is a great opportunity for families to support the NYFS and acquire a professional outdoor portrait. What better backdrop than the beautiful Pleasance foliage?” said Beth Agen, executive director of NYFS. “We are fortunate that such a talented photographer is willing to donate her time to our fundraising efforts.”

To reserve a 15-minute portrait session, call Cynthia McIntyre Photography at 364-1592.  Only a limited number of sessions are available. The session includes one printout; additional copies can be purchased separately if desired.

NYFS is a licensed, nonprofit, mental health clinic and youth service bureau dedicated to helping children, individual adults and families achieve their highest potential. In addition to providing outpatient counseling services to individuals — children and adults, families and groups, NYFS provides positive youth development programs and is home to the offices of the Newtown Prevention Council.

NYFS programs and services are offered regardless of ability to pay. To find out more about Newtown Youth & Family Services, call 270-4335 or visit NewtownYouthAndFamilyServices.org.

Cynthia McIntyre is a professional photographer in Newtown who specializes in on-location portrait photography.  She has done similar fundraisers for NYFS at Christmas and Easter, taking photos of children with Santa and The Easter Bunny, respectively, and photographed promgoers last month at The Pleasance, also forwarding all of her portrait fees to NYFS.
