DANBURY — Despite a tough economic climate, Ridgefield Glass is expanding its operation into Danbury. The custom glass retailer opened the doors to a new 3,500-square-foot shop and warehouse — called “Elegance in Glass” — Wednesday, December 2, at 12 Backus Avenue behind the Danbury Fair Mall. 

“We’ve been fortunate in that we’ve been able to diversify our product mix with both traditional replacement glass and custom designs,” said John Petchonka, co-owner of Ridgefield Glass. “As a result, we needed more warehouse space to keep up with the demand on both fronts.”

Mr Petchonka adds that the new location will also allow the company to grow its customer base north into Danbury and the surrounding areas. Elegance in Glass is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm.
