Police report they stopped motorist Kenneth Ganger, 32, of 101 Church Hill Road at about 11:41 am May 28 on Mile Hill Road for a motor vehicle violation. On investigating, police charged Ganger with misuse of marker plates, driving under suspension, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without automotive insurance.
Police released Ganger for a June 12 appearance in Danbury Superior Court. Newtown police turned over Ganger to Fairfield police who held a warrant for him.
DUI Charge
Police said that while on patrol on South Main Street at about 9:48 pm May 28, they spotted motorist Michael D. Brennan, 47, of 2-A Fire Tree Lane turn right from Country Club Road onto South Main Street, without stopping for a stop sign.
Brennan then drove southbound on South Main Street in the northbound lane, almost colliding head-on with a police car, police said.
Police stopped Brennan on Mile Hill Road and charged him with driving under the influence, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to drive to the right, and interfering with police.
After posting a $100 bond, police released Brennan for a June 11 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
