Swing Into Spring Gala Fundraiser
Swing Into Spring Gala Fundraiser
WILTON â The second annual âSwing Into Springâ fundraising cocktail reception and dance will be hosted by the Trustees of the Wilton Library Association on Saturday, March 4, from 7:30 to 11:30 pm in the library building.
The evening will offer both a live auction and a raffle drawing for five prizes, including a soccer ball signed by the 1999 womenâs World Cup championship team. Net proceeds from the event will benefit the libraryâs technology infrastructure and services.
Tickets for the evening as well as the raffle drawing are now on sale at the library. Tables for ten may be reserved; there will be open seating as well. Raffle ticket holders need not be present at the gala to win.
Tickets are being offered at two supporting levels: $75 each for Contributors and $150 each for Patrons. Raffle tickets are $25 each. For details contact Mary Anne Franco at the library, 203/762-3950.
Clever decorations and the rearrangement of shelving units will transform both the adult and childrenâs services areas into a festive setting for conversing, dining and dancing. SRO, a five-piece combo with a vocalist, will play music from all eras throughout the evening. Millie Wilson will cater the buffet supper.
A live auction featuring an emerald and other items will be held before the raffle drawing at 10 pm. First prize will be a two-night trip for two to New York City with round-trip transportation by Thames Limousine, Grand Hyatt accommodations, dinner at La Reserve and a TicketMaster gift certificate. Second prize will be a trip for two to Newport, Rhode Island, with a two-night accommodation at Cliffside Inn.
Third prize will be a soccer ball signed by the womenâs World Cup championship team. Fourth will be a one-hour Soaring Adventures balloon ride for two, and fifth prize will be tickets for ten children and two adults at a Blue Fish baseball game at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport.
Nearly 180 people attended last yearâs fundraising gala, which resulted in $22,000 for the library.
