Wife And Mother

Louise Frias, 96, died August 12 at Pope John Paul II Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Frank Frias.

She was born December 20, 1908, in Taunton, Mass., daughter of Jose and Francisca (Victoria) de Farias.

She resided in California until her 13th birthday when her family moved back to Portugal. She attended school in Portugal and later managed her family business, a grocery store and a village cafe and grist mill. She moved back to the United States in 1954.

She was employed by Capitol Machine and later Amphenol Corp, retiring after numerous years of service.

She is survived by a sister, Lena Moniz of Newtown; a daughter, Camellia Marques of Florida; grandchildren Judith Marques-Reed, Ronald Marques, Edward Marques, Steven Fernandes, and Diane Lankford; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Eualia Fernandes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Peter Church, Danbury, Saturday, August 20, at 10 am. Burial will follow in St Peter Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on Saturday, August 20, from 8:30 to 9:30 am.

Contributions in Ms Frias’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
