Foundation Establishes Sept. 11 Fund

WILTON – The Fairfield County Community Foundation has established a new fund, The September 11th Community Response Fund, to assist area victims of Tuesday’s terrorist attacks. The fund will provide support to the victims of the attacks, their families, and emergency assistance agencies providing services to these individuals.

“We are numbed by the terrible violence that unfolded Tuesday [September 11] in our country, and know that before the stories are all told, every Fairfield County resident will be touched by this tragedy,” said Susan Ross, FCCF president, in announcing this fund. “We know that Fairfield County citizens are caring and generous and want to help. So we have established The September 11th Community Response Fund at FCCF to mobilize financial resources to respond to the pressing needs of the victims, their families, and all those affected by this tragedy.”

Those wishing to contribute to this fund may call 203-622-6990 or send their tax deductible donations to: The September 11th Community Response Fund, Fairfield County Community Foundation, 523 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897.
