Watercolor Program At Meeting House
A popular teacher for the Society of Creative Arts of Newtown, Richard Ochs of Newburgh, N.Y., will demonstrate how to paint a landscape in watercolor at a meeting of SCAN on Wednesday, November 10, at 7:30 pm. The demonstration, open to the public free of charge, will be at Newtown Meeting House, 3 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole).
Richard Ochs studied with John Pike for eight years. He paints realism but with a free approach. His work gives the viewer the feeling he or she has just happened on the scene.
Mr Ochsâ paintings are represented in galleries and collections from the New York-Connecticut area down the East coast to Florida. He is a member of 11 artist organizations including the Salmagundi Club and American Artistâs Professional League, both in New York, the North East Watercolor Society and the Society of Marine Artists.
