UConn Mentor Connection

STORRS — Applications are available for UConn Mentor Connection. The annual, three-week, residential summer program for academically talented high school students (current sophomores and juniors) will take place on the University of Connecticut’s campus in Storrs from July 7 to 25.

Students will participate in creative projects, investigations, and cutting-edge research with UConn faculty and graduate students. While developing a collaborative and personal relationship with a mentor, they are also learning about career options and getting a taste of college life. The program’s mission is also aimed at building self-esteem and confidence in students.

Evenings are filled with fun activities and off-campus field trips are planned for weekends.

Need-based scholarships are available for the $2,800 summer program. Applications are due May 14 and may be downloaded from www.gifted.uconn.edu. For more information, contact Heather Spottiswoode at 860-486-0283 or Kevin O’Connor at 860-486-8759.
