Residents Win At Bridgewater Fair
BRIDGEWATER — Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue added two trophies to its collection recently. The company was presented with Best Overall Fire Unit and Best In Show honors following the Bridgewater Fair Firemen’s Parade on August 16.
In addition, other residents received honors for their efforts during the annual three-day event presented on Bridgewater Fairgrounds the weekend of August 16-18. Marilyn Mahler earned a blue ribbon in the Crochet division of the Needlework competition for her entry, and Christine Irwin earned a second place ribbon in same division. Jennifer DeAlmedia earned first and third place honors in Needlework-Knitting, and Barbara Campbell earned a third place in the same category. Elizabeth Foste received a blue ribbon in Needlework-Quilted.
Will Reardon earned a third place spot in one of the weekend’s pie eating contests.
Congratulations to other residents who may have earned ribbons and awards. Unfortunately, many names of winners were released by judges without corresponding hometowns for a number of competition categories this year, including Hobbies, Antique Tractor Pull, and Flower.
