Connecticut Authors Reading Series Continues At Booth Library
Inside the meeting room of C.H. Booth Library, three novelists took listeners into the world of their stories during the Connecticut Authors Reading Series on October 21.
The free 2018 Newtown Arts Festival event was led by curator and local author Sophfronia Scott, who introduced each writer before they read excerpts from their published work.
Debut novelist Tom Seigel read from The Astronaut’s Son, a tale of a son’s journey after he suspects his father has been murdered to cover up a NASA secret.
Marilyn Simon Rothstein read from Husbands And Other Sharp Objects, which explores her character’s familial secrets that are revealed over the course of a wedding.
Georgia Hunter, a finalist for the 2018 Connecticut Book Awards, read from her debut novel, We Were The Lucky Ones, a story inspired by her family’s history during the Holocaust.
Following the readings, audience members had the opportunity to ask the authors questions during a Q&A panel discussion about the craft of writing.
Refreshments were served and copies of all the books were available for purchase.
