Town Players of Newtown's final production for the 2016 season, John Cariani's Almost, Maine, will open Friday, November 18, at The Little Theatre.

Premiering at Portland (Maine) Stage Company in 2004, Almost, Maine comprises nine vignettes that explore love and loss. The quirky approach to the delights and dangers of romance take place in a remote, mythical "almost-town" called Almost, Maine.

The New York Times said, "This is a beautifully structured play, with nifty surprise endings (most but not all of them happy) and passing references to characters from other vignettes, which slyly tell us more about them."

Directed by Terry Sagedy of Newtown, the Town Players production of Almost, Maine features the talents of Tony Benedetti of Beacon Falls, Shawn Brown of Danbury, Brooke Cassalia of Monroe, Rick Haylon of Newtown, Rosemary Howard of Waterbury, Joe Koproski of Redding, Laurel Lettieri of Norwalk, James O'Reilly of Redding, and Stephanie Woerdeman of Norwalk.

The production crew includes producers Brian DeToma of Danbury and Nick Kaye of Bethel, who also serves as the set and lighting designer.

Almost, Maine will run weekends, November 18-December 10. Curtain times are 8 pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 pm for Sunday matinees on November 27 and December 4, at 2 pm.

Tickets are $22 for the evening shows, $18 for matinee performances.

Tickets may be purchased in advance by visiting the theater's website, newtownplayers.org. Reservations may also be made by calling the box office at 203-270-9144.

Town Players of Newtown is a community theater, currently in its 81st season. The theater is at 18 Orchard Hill Road, just off Main Street South/Route 25 (one mile north of the Sand Hill Plaza).
