High School Fight

A fight between two male students at Newtown High School has resulted in one of them being charged with third degree assault, according to police.

Police said they arrested a 15-year-old boy on the assault charge about 12:34 pm June 10, after he was involved in a fight with another boy under 16.

Police declined to identify the boy who they arrested. State law shields the identity of people charged with crimes who are under age 16.

The victim received minor injuries in the fight and did not require medical attention, police said.

Police transported the arrested youth to the police station where they booked him on the assault charge, after which he was released into his mother’s custody for an upcoming appearance in Danbury Juvenile Court.

Wakeboard

Sometime on May 29 or 30, someone stole an aquatic device known as a “wakeboard” from a boat that was being kept in a driveway on Merlin’s Lane in the Camelot residential subdivision, off Hattertown Road, police report.

The Liquid Force-brand wakeboard is blue and gold. The item is worth more than $500. Police ask anyone with information about the theft to contact them at 426-5841.
