I Can Cope Program On Money Matters
DANBURY ââ The American Cancer Society and the Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital are hosting an I Can Cope: Taking Charge of Money Matters support group on January 26 at the Praxair Cancer Center.
Arthur Weinshank, a tax attorney and partner with Cramer and Anderson law firm, will be the guest speaker.
I Can Cope is an educational program for people facing cancer, either personally, or as a friend or family caregiver. Living with cancer is one of the greatest challenges a person can face in the course of a lifetime. I Can Cope offers help in the form of reliable information, peer support, and practical coping skills ? so that those fighting cancer can meet this challenge.
A cancer diagnosis can take a toll on personal finances. Taking Charge of Money Matters will help you begin to answer money-related questions:
If I donât have medical insurance, how can I pay for the health care I need?
How much of my treatment will insurance cover?
What will happen to my family if I have to take a leave of absence from work?
What rights do I have on the job?
How will I take care of other bills and save for my childâs future?
Once I am cancer-free, how can I rebuild my finances?
Who can assist me and my family?
Through a discussion with knowledgeable presenters, Taking Charge of Money Matters will help:
Identify money concerns that affect you, and determine which to address first.
Take concrete steps toward solutions by designing a money action plan.
Identify community resources that may be of help.
