Nancy Sealund
Nancy (Rasmussen) Sealund, 75, of Newtown, died, after a long illness, June 18, at the Glen Hill Convalescent Center in Danbury. She was born May 18, 1937, the daughter of Laura (Andrews) and Carl Edward Rasmussen, in the home in which she lived for much of her life, in the Dodgingtown section of Newtown.
She is survived by her three sons, Stuart and Carl of Newtown and John of Massachusetts; and her daughter, Jean Lea Johnson of Newtown; three grandchildren; her sister, Gloria Richardson of Newtown; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and the father of her children, John Sealund of California. Her parents and her sister, Jean Augusta Rasmussen, predeceased her.
Ms Sealund graduated from Newtown High School in 1955. She was owner and operator of Carousel Hair Stylists in New Milford for 14 years, worked at Grolier in Danbury for 13 years, and retired from Hologic/Lorad of Danbury in 2010.
She enjoyed sports and loved singing. She spent time reading her Bible, meditating on scriptures, and she loved Godâs creations. She was a member of the Bethel Connecticut Congregation of Jehovahâs Witnesses. Even from her hospice bed, Ms Sealund was active by writing letters and sharing Bible truths with visitors and staff.
Family members, friends, caregivers, and former co-workers are all invited to attend a memorial service at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahâs Witnesses, 48 Payne Road, Danbury, Saturday, June 30, at 1:30 pm. There will be no calling hours. Cremation and interment will be private.
