*It’s here!

The long, long, long awaited full CD by Alan Morgan, Brian Morgan and Andy Spencer — collectively known as TREBLEHOOK — has been recorded, remixed, mastered, pressed, and is now official. The work is called Hooked, and the band will be hosting a CD release party next weekend in Newtown. Doors will open at 8 pm on Friday, June 16, at The Fireside Inn for the big event, which will include plenty of live music by the guys. The album contains 12 tracks, with songs written by all three members of this band.

Andy Spencer mentioned this week that there were times where the project of putting together this CD was “exasperating,” but all he, Brian and Alan are proud of the outcome. A few more details in this space next week, but plan on getting to The Fireside for the big event…

*This weekend, the rock band that has quickly become a favorite has two shows in the region. SOL DOG has a hastily-scheduled show tonight (June 9) at Shenanigan’s in South Norwalk, where the group has played a few times during the week but is now being given its big shot at a weekend outing.

Then on Saturday, the guys will be back in New Haven. Pray for good weather, because this show is a return to TK’s on College Street, which has an outdoor patio for performances when it isn’t raining. Both shows get underway around 10 pm, and if it is raining Saturday don’t fret: There is plenty of room inside TK’s for the band and its audience. And yes, the TK’s in New Haven is an extension of the same TK’s American Café in Danbury, with the same great menu, only the New Haven club is much larger (can you imagine fitting a band somewhere inside the White Street TK’s?). The New Haven TK’s is where Hennesey’s Irish Café used to be; at the end of the block that is home to the Shubert Theatre and the New Haven Palace.

*The Ghost in the Rain is the title of the new CD by another local performer, LUCINDA. The independent release of the Bethel resident will be celebrated this weekend with a CD release party of its own. Lucinda will be performing Friday night (June 9) at Bank Street Coffee house in New Milford, from 8 to 11 pm. Lucinda has been road-testing the new material for about six months while also performing material from her debut effort, The Sky Is Falling, so some of the material on the new album may sound familiar to anyone who has seen her perform recently. In addition to the New Milford show this weekend, there is another show set up for next weekend: Lucinda will be at The GW Tavern in Washington Depot on Saturday, June 17.

*While still speaking of next weekend, New Milford’s Youth Agency will be hosting an all-ages evening of live music on Friday, June 16, at The Maxx, at 94 Railroad Street. Doors open at 6:30, the music begins at 7:30, and admission is $5. Local bands GREEDWELL MISERLY, SHOWCASE and AMERICAN DEGENERATE will be featured. Details? Call 860/210-2165 (The Maxx) or 860/354-0047 (New Milford Youth Agency).

Until next week, I’ll be seeing you... on the road.
