Theater For Children
WATERBURY â The Mattatuck Museum will offer a special four-week acting workshop with professional actors from Shakesperience during January and February. Over the course of four weeks, program participants will be involved in creating theater through a combination of acting and improvisational games, Shakespearean scene work, and physical awareness.
The Shakesperience Teaching Approach combines various acting techniques, focusing on developing action and character through text, while encouraging a strong ensemble that takes ownership of the work. On the last day of the program, the students will present examples of the work.
The Acting Workshop will take place on Wednesday afternoons, 3:30 to 5 pm, on January 19 and 26 and February 2 and 9. The program is intended for students ages 8 to 12. The fee for all four workshops is $65.
