Losing An Angel

To the Editor:

On behalf of the animals of Newtown and as a faithful member of Canine Advocates, I would like to express my deep sadness in the termination of the employment of Carolee Mason.

Carolee has been a valuable asset to the animals in the pound, as well as those within our community. I have been inspired by her devotion and compassion for all creatures. She has a special gift of bringing out the animal lover in everyone. She has been a committed and dedicated dog warden, who did her job with passion, integrity and devotion. She was the heartbeat of the pound, a person with genuine good intentions.

I am a weekly dog walker and proud owner of animals from our pound. My experiences with Carolee have always been positive and helpful. She went above and beyond her core job description in supporting me with my adoptions. Every fundraising project I have initiated as well as attended she supported with enthusiasm and leadership. She is a role model for the community. The town and our animals are losing an angel.
