Marilyn Frances White Manka, 67, of Fairfield, died March 6, in her childhood home in Stamford surrounded by her beloved family. She was the mother of Michael Manka, Jr, of Newtown.
Marilyn was born in Upper Darby, Penn., on January 4, 1945, to Francis E. and Mary Ellen Hunt White. A lover of history, antiques, film, English gardens, libraries, books, architecture and Sasco Beach, Mrs Manka will be remembered as a truly dedicated, trustworthy, generous and beautiful soul who understood the meaning of unconditional love. Her children and grandchildren were her world and legacy.
In addition to her son Michael and his wife Nicole, Mrs Manka is survived by two daughters, another son, and their spouses; 11 grandchildren, and her faithful cat Tigger.
She was predeceased by her parents and husband Michael E. Manka, Sr.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue in Stamford, at 10:20 am, on Friday, March 9, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at the Church of St Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue in Stamford at 11 am. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Stamford.
Calling hours at the funeral were scheduled on Thursday, March 8, from 5 to 8 pm.
