Open House An Opportunity
For Young Performers
RIDGEFIELD â The Ridgefield Theater Barn is offering young performers, ages 9 through 15, an exciting opportunity to work with a staff of professional directors, musical directors, choreographers, and writers who live in Connecticut and work on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in regional and stock theaters, or in television.
A new collaborative musical theater workshop is designed to teach basic acting techniques while encouraging a studentâs individual creative instincts through improvisation. Students will work on exercises created to focus their energy and enhance their natural talents while participating in a professional rehearsal environment.
At the end of the workshop, the students will present four performances that will be open to the public.
The Theater Barn will host an open house on Thursday, March 17, at 7 pm. Tnterested students and their parents can meet the Musical Theater Workshop staff, including Broadway professionals Marvin Laird and Joal Paley, and Connecticut actress and instructor Missy Slaymaker-Hanlon. Open registration and refreshments will follow.
