Botsford Accident

Police report a two-car accident at the intersection of Blue Spruce Drive and South Main Street about 7 pm May 24.

Police said motorist Martin E. Prew, 40, of Bethel, who was driving a 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300 sedan, drove into the rear end of a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Edward S. Tilghman, 25, of Edgartown, Mass. There were no injuries.

Police said they verbally warned Prew for following too closely.

Elm Drive DWI

Police said they stopped a vehicle being driven southbound on Elm Drive by Kris P. Green, 21, of Southbury about 10:45 pm May 29.

Police said Green failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving while intoxicated.

After processing, police released Green on a promise to appear June 9 in Danbury Superior Court.

Lawn Vandalism

Police report they charged a Shelton man with third-degree criminal mischief on the afternoon of May 29 following an incident at a Johnson Drive residence in Sandy Hook.

Police said they charged Scott E. Ritter, 39, after he drove his pickup truck on the lawn of a home, intentionally creating two 30-foot-long skid marks on the turf and in a flower bed.

Police released Ritter on a promise to appear June 15 in Danbury Superior Court.

 

I-84 Rear-Ender

State police said motorist Deborah A. Lasky, 32, of Milford, who was driving a 1998 Hyundai station wagon about 5:20 pm May 28, was stopped at the end of the eastbound Interstate-84 Exit 9 off-ramp in Hawleyville when she was struck from behind by a 2000 Mitsubishi sedan driven by Robert F. Gray, 40, of 11 Willowbrook Lane. There were no injuries. State police said Gray was following too closely.

Guardrail Sideswiped

State police report that trucker Troy W. Lunsford, Jr, 49, of Southside, Alabama, who was driving a 1999 Volvo tractor-trailer truck about 11:30 am May 26 on westbound Interstate-84 near Exit 9, changed travel lanes, causing westbound motorist Marcy S. Ventresca, 26, of Wolcott, who was driving a 1994 Jeep, to veer to the left and sideswipe some guardrailing.

There were no injuries. State police said Lunsford made an unsafe lane change.

 

Ford Vs Chevy

State police said a 1991 Chevrolet coupe driven by Tarry E. Randone, 52, of Southbury was eastbound on Interstate-84 near Exit 10 about 4 pm May 25 when it slowed suddenly due to traffic conditions and was struck from behind by eastbound motorist David B. Buchholz, Jr, 22, of 104 Waterview Drive, Sandy Hook, who was driving a 1996 Ford coupe. State police said Buchholz was following too closely.

Warrant Served

Newtown police said that while Jesus Mago, 26, of Danbury was in Danbury Superior Court May 30 being prosecuted on charges brought against him by Danbury police, Newtown police served a warrant against him in connection with a past incident in Newtown.

Newtown police charged Mago with second-degree failure to appear in court, first-degree criminal trespassing, and criminal impersonation.

Mago was arraigned on the charges, Newtown police said.
