Two-Car Crash

Westbound motorist Jeffrey Wolcott, 41, of 3 Hickory Lane, Sandy Hook, who was driving on Church Hill Road near the Housatonic Railroad overpass, was stopped behind a vehicle which was waiting to make a left turn when he was struck from behind by westbound motorist Nicole E. Feola, 21, of Southbury, who was driving a 1992 Honda Coupe about 8:40 am October 5, police said.

There were no injuries. Police gave Feola a written warning for following too closely.

Intersection Crash

Police report a two-car accident at the four-way intersection of Hattertown Road, Key Rock Road and Poverty Hollow Road about 5:30 pm October 6.

Motorist Suzanne Jones, 69, of Southbury was stopped at a stop sign eastbound on Poverty Hollow Road in a 1997 Toyota Avalon, while motorist Kenneth Newman, 32, of Uncasville was stopped at a stop sign southbound on Hattertown Road in a 1995 Honda Accord, police said.

The drivers then entered the intersection about the same time and collided, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Jones a written warning for failure to obey a stop sign.

Trespassing Charge

Police report they were called to a Briarwood Lane construction site owned by Michael Burton Builders October 9 for a trespassing complaint.

Police said that on their arrival, the person who had been on the property had left the scene.

Police said they later located Penelope Meek, 62, of 40 Butterfield Road at her home and issued her an infraction ticket on a charge of simple trespassing.  Meek may either pay a $77 fine or contest the charge in Danbury Superior Court October 22.

Blue Colony

Police report that motorist Benjamin Piecora, PO Box 832, Newtown, parked his 1988 Lincoln Mark 7 in the Blue Colony Diner parking lot on Church Hill Road about 10:30 pm October 6 and on returning to it about 11:30 pm found that the driver’s side rear fender had been damaged. Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

Two Trailers Taken

Police report that two trailers were stolen from Payne’s Nursery and Florist at 142 Mt Pleasant Road. The thefts were discovered on the morning of October 7.

One trailer is worth $11,000 and the other is worth $3,000, police said. Both trailers are yellow. Police ask anyone with information about the thefts to contact them.

Drug Charge

While on patrol at the Pond Brook boat launch about 6:30 pm October 8, police said they stopped to talk to a motorist who was sitting in his motor vehicle.

On investigation, police said they charged Patrick Jude, 21, of Burnsville, Minn, with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jude was scheduled for an October 12 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Tractor-Trailer DWI

State police said they stopped tractor-trailer truck driver Dave Davenport, 65, of Kansas City, Kansas,  for driving his truck on the road shoulder of westbound Interstate-84 east of Exit 11 about 8:30 pm October 5.

An investigation showed Davenport was intoxicated, state police said. Davenport was charged with driving while intoxicated and held on a $5,000 bond for an appearance the following day in Danbury Superior Court, state police said.

Interstate Crash

State police report motorist Bruce Barker, 30, of Wall, NJ, who was driving a 1995 Ford station wagon westbound on Interstate-84, stopped due to heavy traffic as he was approaching Exit 9 about 3 pm October 10.

The Ford was then struck from behind by a westbound 1994 Dodge pickup truck driven by Richard Elliott, 59, of  Danbury, state police said.

There were no injuries. State police said Elliott failed to drive a reasonable distance apart.
