Samuel Lekuch

Longtime Sandy Hook

Resident Appreciated

Life’s Humor

Samuel Lekuch, 66, of Sandy Hook, died December 17. He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and attended schools in both Bronx and Manhattan.

He lived in Sandy Hook for 19 years and before that, for many years on Long Island, both in Ridge and Sayville, where he worked in banking and as a volunteer police officer.

Mr Lekuch and his wife, known collectively as “Short Circuit DJs,” enjoyed providing the music and being a part of many happy occasions, such as weddings, for more than 25 years. He was retired yet was well known to patrons of Connecticut Limo’s Danbury office, where he worked for several years. His outgoing and helpful demeanor, as well as his sense of humor, will be remembered and missed. It was quite common for him to stop and talk with his neighbors.

Friends and family could count on him to make the most of Halloween by decorating and dressing up in his favorite Star Trek costume, a prime example of his silly and corny nature.

He will be deeply missed forever by his wife, Monica; son Jason and fiancée, Sarah; daughters, Jennifer, Andrea, Carol and husband, Frank; five grandchildren; brother, Herbert and his wife, Cynthia; and many other family members and friends whose lives he touched.

Graveside services were December 21.

Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home was in care of arrangements.
