Greatest Show For Earth Coming

To Barnum Museum

BRIDGEPORT — A solar-powered show of lively music for children and adults will be presented Thursday, December 28, at 10:30 am, at The Barnum Museum, 820 Main Street. The program is sponsored by Green Mountain Energy Company. Doors will open at 10 am.

Green Mountain Energy’s program, “The Greatest Show for Earth,” will feature Sirius Coyote, a four-piece band that presents pre-Columbian modern songs focusing on the environment, diversity and cultural understanding.

The group performs on guitar, sax, clarinet, flute, kalmias rain sticks, drums, berimbau, ocarinas and other instruments handcrafted by the artists. Audience participation includes singing along, dancing and music-making.

Green Mountain Energy’s mission to change the way electricity is made will set the theme for the show, which will be powered by a solar generator to demonstrate the use and development of renewable and sustainable energy sources.

The performances and any following museum self-tours participants decide to enjoy will be included with regular museum admission of $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and college students, and $3 for children ages 4 to 18. Children under 4 will be admitted free.

No reservations are needed and free on-street parking is available. For information call 203/331-1104.
