Clavette To Speak At IMA Meeting

DANBURY — The Institute of Management Accountants will hold a breakfast meeting with speaker Alan J. Clavette, CPA, of Newtown providing a “2001 Tax Update” on Tuesday, September 18, at the  Sit-Down Diner on Danbury-Newtown Rd, Rt 6.

A graduate of Western Connecticut State University, Mr Clavette has been a licensed certified public accountant in Connecticut since 1982. He is the managing partner of Clavette Josselyn & Co, LLC, in Newtown.

Mr Clavette will provide an overview of changes to corporate and individual taxes including highlights of income tax rate cuts, child-related tax relief, marriage penalty relief, repeal of estate and generation skipping taxes, new tax incentives for education expenses, and highlights of retirement savings and pension reform.

Mr Clavette currently serves on the boards of the Newtown Chamber of Commerce, the Newtown Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Newtown Rotary Club. He is a member of the AICPA, CSCPA, and the Western Connecticut Estate and Tax Planning Council.

The breakfast is $12, payable at the door, for members and guests. Students are always half price. Breakfast will begin at 7:20 am, with the program at 8 am.
