Toys For Tots Program Sets Up Collection Sites

The Ridgefield Detachment of the Marine Corps League is kicking off its annual Toys for Tots campaign throughout Fairfield County, including Newtown.

Last year many gifts were distributed to less fortunate children in surrounding towns due to the generosity of are corporations, school children, and concerned families.

Collection sites this year will include the Ridgefield elementary schools, Our Lady of Fatima School in Wilton, Coldwell Banker Realtors in Ridgefield, Curtiss & Crandon Realtors and Prudential Realty in Newtown, the Ridgefield firehouse, William Raveis Real Estate in Danbury, and The Toy Chest in New Canaan.

Our name implies gifts for young children, but there is a growing need for items for older children and teenagers.

Some area companies and individual families who are hosting holiday parties ask their guests to bring a new, unwrapped gift to make Toys For Tots part of the party.
