Swing And Dixie At Love & Knishes

SOUTHBURY — Area adults are invited to a lively, joyous program of swing and Dixieland music that will take place on Tuesday, August 28, at the Love & Knishes Lunch Program of the Federation-Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut.

Pianist Jeanne Hinkson and clarinetist Artie Schnabel will play favorite American standards by Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and others. The music will fill the social hall at the Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus, 444 Main Street North, immediately following the noontime lunch.

The freshly cooked lunch is prepared by personal chef Heather Bingham and features healthful, delicious food with everything from organic mesclun salad to dessert. Lunch is served at noon and the music begins at 1 pm. Lunch reservations should be made by Friday, August 24, and there is a suggested lunch donation of $5.50 for those aged 60 and above and $8 for those under 60.
