James J.        Delohery, Jr
James J. Delohery, Jr, 75, husband of the late Lillian (St Ours) Delohery, died at Laurel Ridge Nursing Home in Ridgefield on June 13.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Sean M. and Peggy Delohery of Newtown.
He was born in Danbury, December 28, 1925, son of the late James J. and Rose (Connolley) Delohery, Sr. Mr Delohery was a lifetime Danbury resident and was a graduate of Danbury High School, class of 1943. He served with the US Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Following the war, Mr Delohery returned to Danbury and worked as a rural postal carrier for the US Postal Service. Following his retirement he worked for PHH-Home Equity in Danbury.
He was a member of St Joseph Church in Danbury, the Newtown Country Club, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Mr Delohery is survived by two other sons, James J. Delohery, III, and his wife, Susan, of Danbury, and Mark L. Delohery of Danbury; a daughter, Susan D. Magersuppe and her husband, Carl, of Danbury; three grandchildren, Meghan Magersuppe, Erin Delohery, and Brendan Delohery; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr Delohery was predeceased by two sisters, Marita D. Burke and Jayne D. Burke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Joseph Church, Danbury, on Saturday, June 16, at 10 am. Burial will take place in St Peter Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on Friday, June 15, from 5 to 8 pm.
