Ruth Bergmueller
Ruth M. Bergmueller, 76, of Ashford Lane, Newtown, died April 6 in Glen Hill Harborside Healthcare Center, Danbury. She was the wife of the late Walter Bergmueller.
Ruth was born in Perth Amboy, N.J., November 10, 1926, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Blanche) Petrick. She was a resident of Ridgefield from 1968 to 1973, where she was an active volunteer with Girl Scouts and the PTA. Mrs Bergmueller lived for a time in Skillman, N.J., where she was involved with youth mentoring. She then was a resident of Midlothian, Va., where she was a volunteer at Johnston Willis Hospital. She has been a resident of Newtown for the last one-and-a-half years.
Ruth loved roller skating, camping, and fishing. She was a seamstress, loved bowling and tennis, was an artist, and played the guitar.
A loving wife, dear mother, cherished Gram and devoted friend, she will be truly missed. Her smile, huge heart, and caring ways will live on in the hearts of all who know her.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Carol Walcott of Newtown and Heidi Wilson of Midlothian; six grandchildren, Meghan and Jeff Walcott and Kaitlin, Abigail, Gretchen, and Jack Wilson; a sister, Dorothy Metcalf of Goodyear, Ariz.; and a brother, Joseph Petrick of Hopelawn, N.J.
Funeral services were held April 9, from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, to a Mass of Christian Burial at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown.
Interment was in Clover Leaf Park Cemetery, Woodbridge, N.J.                                                                Â
