A Holiday Festival

To Remember

To the Editor:

What a great day we had for our Holiday Festival, Sunday, December 3! The 21st Annual Family Counseling Center’s Holiday Festival took place on Newtown’s beautiful Main Street, with scores of people heeding The Newtown Bee’s inspiring editorial heralding The Festival as a family event that “is so important to this town”… that…“benefits the families struggling to stay strong and stay together in the face of difficulties that threaten to tear them apart.”

The Festival is a year in the planning and a major fundraiser for The Center and its newly merged partner, Newtown Youth Services, and we would like to thank the following members of the committee and contributors for their outstanding dedication and contribution: Mary Andreotta, Diana Baxter, Joan Bird, Maureen Birden, Sybil Blau, Stella Dance, Cyndy DaSilva, Lisa Gallagher, Audrey Grasso, Michele Hankin, Lynn Herrmann, Shannon Hicks, Carol Henry, “Bell Ringer” Joe Humeston, Joy Kopesky, Jennifer Johnston, Kathy L., Roseanne Loring, Maureen Maher, Carol Mahoney, Darla Miceli, Ron Pekrul, Marilia Rodriquez, David Rowley, Kathy Stockalis, Earl Smith, and Jeanne Varnum.

Thank you to the various Town of Newtown departments, financial sponsors, house sponsors, patrons, musicians, community members, organizations, docents, student volunteers, decorators and florists listed in this year’s Holiday Festival program book.

Thank you especially to the homeowners who graciously opened their homes to the community: Colleen and Andrew Bryant, Michelle and Alan Hankin, Liz and Allan Page, Clare and Charles Didier, Lisa and William Hintzen and John and Jane Vouros of the Dana-Holcombe House.

See you at next year’s 22nd Family Counseling Center’s Holiday Festival – December 2, 2007.

Warm regards for a happy and safe Holiday Season,

Layne Lescault
