Memorial Day Ceremony At VFW Post

Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 308, and American Legion Post 202 invite the public to a ceremony honoring the country’s veterans of wars fought on American and foreign soil, as well as those serving in the armed forces today, Monday, May 30, at 11 am, on the grounds of the VFW, Tinkerfield Road.

Senior Vice Commander (as of June) of the VFW, Rich Monckton, Connecticut Army National Guard, Alpha Co. 1-102, and a veteran of Afghanistan, will be the featured speaker.

The public is encouraged to bring donations of nonperishable items, hard candy, toiletries, DVDs, and other items useful to troops stationed over seas. A box is set up in the post hall. Coffee and doughnuts will be served by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary following the ceremony.
