Ellen M.         Birdsell

Ellen “Ellie” M. Birdsell, 65, of Tilghman, Md., died September 2, at home, peacefully surrounded with family by her side. She was born in Portchester, N.Y., the daughter of Elsie and Eugene Birdsall. She was the youngest of two siblings.

You may remember her smiling face from Ellie’s Deli, Middle Gate Elementary School, and the Red Brick General Store, Newtown; Clark’s Supermarket of St Michael’s or as a cafeteria worker at St Michael’s Elementary School in Tilghman.

Her husband, David Birdsell; her daughters and sons-in-law Dawn and Stephen Bailey of Newtown, Nancy and Robert Sullivan of Tilghman, Missy Birdsell and Gary Grassini of Tilghman, and daughter Danielle Birdsell and her finance Ed Diaz of Meriden; brother, Barry Birdsall, and his wife Kathy, of Greenwich; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter survive Ms Birdsell.

A celebration of her life will take place in Newtown, at a date to be announced.
