Joanne B. Cwikla, 62, beloved wife of Joseph M. Cwikla of Newtown, died August 1 in Danbury Hospital. Born in Chicago on March 29, 1946, she was the daughter of Arthur and Florence Hilkens Dombrowski.
Mrs Cwikla was a longtime resident of Newtown, an avid traveler, and parishioner of St Rose Church. She worked as a Spanish teacher for the Monroe Board of Education for ten years until the time of her illness.
In addition to her husband of 38 years, she is survived by her devoted daughters, Julie C. Cwikla of Mississippi, Sarah E. Cwikla and Emily J. Cwikla, both of Bridgeport; and a cherished granddaughter, Vienna Cwikla of Mississippi. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Agnes Kjos. Mrs Cwikla will be long remembered as a loving wife, a caring and devoted mother and grandmother, as well as a loyal friend.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated August 4 in St Rose of Lima Church. Interment was private.
