Ashlar Names Admissions Director
 For New Rehabilitation Unit
Ashlar of Newtown has named Janice Martuccio of Trumbull admissions manager for its new Post-Acute Nursing and Rehabilitation Unit, announced Tom Gutner, Ashlar president. This dedicated 26-bed unit is targeted to post hospitalization, orthopedic surgery, joint replacement, and medically complex patients who need a bridge between hospitalization and home.
âJan Martuccioâs 20-year career has combined long-term, subacute care, and rehabilitation nursing with admissions, which makes her the ideal professional to work with patients, their families, and the healthcare staff so patient needs are best met,â said Mr Gutner. Ashlar of Newtown is a nationally accredited skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility that also offers long-term care and assisted living.
A licensed practical nurse, Ms Martuccio was previously with the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield for 13 years, where she was most recently admissions director. Prior, she was a staff nurse on the long-term care and subacute units. She began her career at St Clareâs Hospital in New York City, where she was a primary care nurse on a postsurgical orthopedic unit. She received her LPN degree from Nassau Community College, Garden City, N.Y.
Ashlar of Newtown is an affiliate of Masonicare, the stateâs largest not-for-profit provider of healthcare services and retirement living options for seniors.
