The Rocking Roostersâ second annual Newtown Country Jamboree will be held at Edmond Town Hall, lower level, on Friday, September 21, from 6:30 to 10:30 pm.
From 6:30 to 7 pm, the Frontier Jammers Band and guest musicians will jam. At 7 pm Bob Paris will lead a demonstration square dance for which no experience is necessary. At 8 pm Ray Onedi will sing, backed by the Frontier Jammers. This will be followed by a club level demonstration square dance and an introduction to western style square dancing by Allan Brozek.
Richard Shokite called the first part of a barn dance in Polish last year, and he will be back to give another demonstration.
About 9 pm, Allen Brozek will call a contras dance, a type of dance that was done by the pioneers. The evening will be rounded out by square dancing and barn dancing.
Complementary refreshments will be served. A $5 donation is requested. Show up or for more information call 264-6855 or 426-5817.
