Joseph Samuel Kochman, 73, of Wilton, previously of Milford and Brooklyn, N.Y., beloved husband of the late Terry Bark Kochman, died December 30 in Wilton Meadows of complications from Parkinson’s disease. Born in New York City, Mr Kochman was a resident of Milford for 33 years.

Mr Kochman is survived by three sons, Scott and his partner, Harold Rubin, of Brooklyn, Larry and his wife, Norci, of Fairfield, and Jerold and Shari Lynn of Newtown; four grandchildren, Naomi, Kimberly, Sidney, and Isaac; a sister, Adrienne Lampert; a brother, Morton Kochman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A retired psychologist, he worked in both the Bridgeport and New York City school systems. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and was a longtime volunteer for the Milford Oyster Festival. He was a member of the ACBL as a Silver Life Master and a past Master of the Hancock Dirigo Adelphi 23 Masonic Lodge.

Services were held January 1 in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, Fairfield Center, with Rabbi Rachael Gurevitz officiating. His burial followed in B’nai Israel Cemetery in Monroe. Shiva was observed in the home of Larry and Norci Kochman January 1–3.
