Police Set Traffic, Parking Bans

For Christmas Tree Lighting

In connection with the Christmas tree lighting ceremonies to be held Friday, November 30, at the Ram Pasture, police remind residents of certain traffic and parking bans that will be in effect in that area from 5 to 8 pm that night.

Except for the passage of emergency vehicles, the section of Elm Drive that lies between its intersections with Sugar Street (Route 302) and Borough Lane will be closed to traffic.

Also, various street sections in the area will be posted with “No Parking” signs. These include sections of Elm Drive, Hawley Road, South Main Street, Sugar Street, and the driveway that links Sugar Street to Town Hall South.

Police said the area will be posted with traffic barricades and traffic cones to direct motorists who are traveling there.

Police will be positioned at the holiday event to aid pedestrians walking through the area, as well direct traffic.
