Occupation: I'm in the insurance and investment business in Fairfield. I've been doing that for 20 years.
Occupation: Iâm in the insurance and investment business in Fairfield. Iâve been doing that for 20 years.
Family: My wife, Doris, and I have three boys. My oldest son is Tyler. Heâs a freshman at Newtown High School. My middle son is Connor, who is in the eighth grade at Newtown Middle School, and Jack, my youngest son, is at Head Oâ Meadow School, in the fourth grade.
Pets: We have a 4-year-old Cockapoo, Max, and a leopard gecko. We also have, now, a rabbit that my son, Connor, found hopping down Main Street last month. We call it Petra. If anybody is missing his or her rabbit, weâre still looking for the rightful ownerâ¦.
How long have you lived in Newtown? We have lived here for 17 years. We lived in Norwalk before that, but Iâm originally from Massachusetts and my wife is originally from Ridgefield.
What do you like to do in your free time? Free time is a luxury! Most of it is gobbled up with the kidsâ sports activities. In the summer, we spend a fair amount of time on our boat.
Do you have a favorite sports team? Probably the Boston Bruins. Iâm a diehard Boston fan â the Red Sox, the Patriots â right across the board. I think my parents would disown me otherwise.
Do you have a favorite travel destination? Anywhere with water. We really enjoy the ocean or a lake, but our favorite spot is Anguilla in the West Indies. Weâve been three times. Itâs a small, quaint little island.
What is the best thing about Newtown? The pride that people have here. The parade, the Christmas tree lighting, and Halloween on Main Street all give that sense of community. Particularly, I admire the people who live on Main Street. They are on display and they do it up right. They go the extra mile to give it that small town feel.
Do you have a hero? For me, it would be the parents of special needs children. I have great admiration for their dedication to their kids. Itâs a lifetime commitment and they honor and cherish that commitment. Thatâs a pretty special thing.
Do you have a personal philosophy? Always try to look at the glass as half full, not as half empty. Take life in stride; there are bigger issues out there. Donât get too high, donât get too low. You might think things arenât going your way, but you have to count your blessings.
What makes you laugh? I love my sitcoms. I watch Seinfield reruns, and they make me laugh every time. Sitcoms definitely tickle my funny bone.
