Grateful For The Parade

To the Editor:

What do people want more than anything? Money? Fame? Good looks? Nope. What people want most is to be happy. According to Harvard psychologist Shawn Achor, one path to happiness is through gratitude.

I think I speak for most of the folks in town when I say I am genuinely grateful for the Labor Day Parade and the volunteers who put it together. Sincere thanks to: Beth Caldwell, president; Robin Buchanan, vice president; Andy Cluff, treasurer; Dan Cruson, secretary; Tom D’Agostino, facilitation coordinator; Ellie Whalen, community liaison; Kym Stendahl, judges coordinator; Kelly Stendahl, program distribution; Stacey Olszewski, Labor Day fair coordinator; Steve Bigham, communications facilitator; Betsy Kenyon, correspondence coordinator.

This year’s parade was fantastic! This year’s theme was, appropriately, “Honoring 10 Years of Caring for Newtown.” Maybe next year’s theme could be, “An Attitude of Gratitude!”

Sincerely,

MaryAnn Murtha
