DANBURY â The Danbury Library Junior Department invites kids in grades 4-6 to a âSpiderwick Trivia and Faeries 101â program to precede the upcoming release of The Spiderwick Chronicles movie. Â
The program will be held on Wednesday, February 13, from 3:30 to 5 pm, to test the knowledge of Spiderwick readers in a variety of fun activities. Kids will test their deductive reasoning skills and their book character knowledge with a âFaerie Challengeâ and trivia game. Participants will also use their art talents in making a wood elf mask.
The Spiderwick Chronicles is a popular series of five illustrated childrenâs fantasy books written by Holly Black and illustrated by Tony DiTerlizzi. All participants will be entered for a chance to win tickets to see the upcoming movie, which is being produced by Paramount and Nickelodeon Movies. Â Â

The following week children in grades 2-4 are invited to spend the afternoon enjoying âNate the Greatâ activities. The library will host âA Mystery Date with Nate the Greatâ on Tuesday, February 19, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.
Guests will test their knowledge of the âNate the Greatâ mystery book characters and unscramble a mystery. Â Kids will help Nate find missing pets and search the library for Nateâs crime-solving dog partner, Sludge. Attendees will also enjoy some very mysterious snacks.
The âNate the Greatâ series began in 1972 by author Marjorie Weinman Sharmat. Â Several of the books have been made into television movies and selected as Books of the Year by the Library of Congress.
