Noreen F. Velky

Noreen F. Velky, 56, of Appleblossom Lane, Newtown, died August 25 in Danbury Hospital.

Miss Velky was born in Bridgeport on October 4, 1947, a daughter of the late Andrew and Auralia (Getynia) Velky. She was a graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport. Miss Velky was a bookkeeper and was last employed by Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Company in Danbury. She was an avid drum corps enthusiast and had been a resident of Newtown for 35 years.

Miss Velky is survived by a sister, Audrey Flynn and her husband Lawrence of Sandy Hook; a nephew, William A. Flynn of Danbury; a niece, Laureen Montoni and her husband Christopher of Naugatuck; two great-nieces, Amanda and Theresa Montoni; and many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28, at 9:30 am, from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, and at 10 am in St Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm.
