To the Editor:

I heartily endorse John Kortze’s reelection to the Newtown Board of Finance. Having known John for over 12 years, I have come to realize that he epitomizes the concept of “civic-minded.” While devoted to his wife and children, John has served successfully for eight years on the Board of Finance. Previous to his current service, John was a member of the Newtown Legislative Council.

John has spent more than half of his 25 years as a Newtown resident serving in unpaid elective positions. I can’t imagine the number of hours sacrificed from personal and family time John has spent with only one goal in mind. That goal has always been to make Newtown the best and most efficiently run small town in Connecticut. John has always risen above the fray and acted with civility and sensitivity to all parties involved in the process.

In this time of hostility, accusation and innuendo, it is imperative that Newtown keep John Kortze on the Newtown Board of Finance. He has certainly earned your vote.
