Keys To Heart Health
Keys To Heart Health
NEW MILFORD â Dietician Mikelanne Phaneuf and Judy Sides, an exercise physiologist, will present âNutrition & Exercise, Two Keys To Heart Healthâ at New Milford Hospital, on Tuesday, February 21, at 6:15 pm, in the hospitalâs Robison Conference Rooms.
When it comes to heart health, a healthy diet and regular aerobic exercise play a key role in reducing the risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Lifestyle changes such as a change in eating patterns and the addition of 30 minutes of exercise a day have been shown to reduce risk even for those who have already had a heart attack, bypass surgery, angioplasty, or exhibit risk factors for CVD.
The program will provide the spark to get back on track, say the presenters.
Mikelanne Phaneuf and Judy Sides will explain the benefits of a healthy diet, regular physical activity, and how to bring life into a heart-health mode.
Prior to the program, attendees can take part in free heart health risk assessment and enjoy some heart-healthy snacks.
The program is free. Register at 860-350-7215.
