Winning Ticket Drawn In Lions Club Mustang Raffle
Winning Ticket Drawn In Lions Club Mustang Raffle
An Ohio man was the lucky winner of the 1966 classic Mustang in the annual Newtown Lions Club raffle. Arthur Craft, of Madison, Ohio could hardly believe his luck when he was called on Saturday, October 20. âI never expected this,â he said. He bought his ticket through the mail in response to advertising by the Lions in Hemmingâs Motor News magazine.
According to Lions Club member Walt Schweikert, this has been a record-breaking year for the raffle, with more than $50,000 raised. All of the net proceeds are donated to a variety of charities and projects related to blindness prevention, eye research, breast cancer, juvenile diabetes, and other charitable causes.
The Lions have been raffling vintage Mustangs for a number of years. Although it is getting harder to find suitable cars, the Lions have already purchased next yearâs raffle car, a blue Mustang convertible with a white âponyâ interior.
The winning ticket was drawn on the Newtown Middle School lawn, Saturday, by Joshua Krapf, 11, a sixth grader at Reed Intermediate School. Joshua was among the crowd of people who gathered to watch the drawing.
