TO VOTE!

This weekend marks your last chance to vote in the 2000 Sculpted Scarecrow Contest. This public event has been a popular part of autumn in Newtown since its inception in 1996. We hope you will take a few minutes of your time to visit the school this weekend and help the contest continue to be a success.

Larger-than-life contemporary scarecrow creations by Newtown Middle School students in the Discovery and Gifted Art classes have been on display on the front lawn of the school since October 21.

The public is invited to visit the school, choose their favorite scarecrow, and then cast their vote. Votes are $1 each, with all money going to charities. Students will be at the school this weekend to accept the ballots, or ballots can be dropped off at the office of Bee Publishing Co., at 5 Church Hill Road.
